Daily operational forecast for May 17, 2020

The operational forecast of possible emergency situations for May 17, 2020 on the territory of the Russian Federation is determined by the passage of 4 cyclones, 2 anticyclones and the atmospheric fronts.

It’s forecast that there is a possibility of emergencies associated with the disruption of life support services, flooding of lowered areas, energy facilities, communications, housing and communal services, and all modes of transport: 

in the North Caucasian Federal District, in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Stavropol Territory (heavy rain combined with thunderstorm, hail, squally winds up to 23 m/s (up to 28 in the mountainous regions of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic); on the rivers of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, there is high water level).

It’s forecast that there is a possibility of accidents associated with disruption of life support systems, all modes of transport, power lines breakage:

in the Far Eastern Federal District, in the Primorsky Territory (heavy rain, a thunderstorm in some areas, a gusty wind up to 18 m/s);

in the Central Federal District, in the Kaluga Region (gusty wind up to 18 m/s);

in the Southern Federal District, in the Republic of Kalmykia, Astrakhan Region (heavy rain, thunderstorm, hail, wind up to 20 m/s);

in the North Caucasian Federal District, in the Republic of Karachay-Cherkess, the Republic of Ingushetia, the Chechen Republic, the Republic of Dagestan (rain, thunderstorm, hail, gusty wind up to 20 m/s).

There is a possibility of flooding of lowered areas, household plots, roads in the Perm and Primorsky territories, the Republic of Komi, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Tomsk, Omsk, Sverdlovsk regions.

There is a possibility of activation of landslide processes, landslips, subsidence of soil in the mountainous and foothill areas of the North Caucasian (the Republic of Ingushetia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Chechen Republic, the Republic of Dagestan, the Stavropol Territory) and Southern Federal districts (the Republic of Adygea, the Republic of Crimea, the Krasnodar Territory).

The increase of thermal anomalies, single foci of natural fires (including counter fires of dry vegetation), foci and natural fires are forecast (caused by non-compliance with fire safety requirements; high fire hazard class, gusty winds):

in the Far Eastern Federal District (Transbaikal Territory);

in the Siberian Federal District (Republic of Tyva, Republic of Altai, Republic of Khakassia, Altai, Krasnoyarsk territories, Omsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk regions);

in the Ural Federal District (Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk regions);

in the Volga Federal District (Republic of Tatarstan, Orenburg, Samara regions);

in the Southern Federal District (Republic of Kalmykia, Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Rostov, Astrakhan regions).
