Daily operational forecast for March 23, 2020

The operational forecast of possible emergency situations for March 23, 2020 on the territory of the Russian Federation is determined by the passage of 4 cyclones, 3 anticyclones and the atmospheric fronts.  

Due to the impact of severe weather phenomena, there is a possibility of accidents related to the disruption of energy facilities, communications, housing and communal services, life support services and all modes of transport:

in the Siberian Federal district (in the Republic of Altai, Republic of Khakassia, Altai Territory, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Tomsk regions ( wind strengthening up to 19-24 m/s, wind gusts up to 25-28 m/s, snow, sleet, ice phenomena, icing ground surface).

Due to the impact of adverse weather phenomena, there is a possibility of accidents related to the disruption of life support services and all modes of transport:

in the Volga Federal District (in Samara, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions there are heavy precipitation in the form of wet snow, wind gusts up to 21 m/s; in the Republic of Tatarstan, Chuvash Republic and the Penza Region there are wind gusts up to 20 m/s);

in the Southern Federal District (in the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar Territory there are wind strengthening up to 20 m/s; in Volgograd region there is a heavy rainfall).

Due to the increasing daytime temperatures above freezing, abundant snow melting and, as a result, rising water levels, there is a possibility of flooding of low-water bridges in the Central Federal District (in the Kostroma Region); in the Volga Federal District (in the Orenburg Region).

In connection with the thaw, there is a risk of failures of people and equipment under the ice throughout the Russian Federation excepting the North Caucasian Federal District and Southern Federal District.

There is avalanche in the mountainous regions of the Siberian Federal District (in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Altai, the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tyva); in the North Caucasian Federal District (in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkar, the Karachayevo-Cherkess Republic, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Republic of Dagestan); in the Southern Federal District (in the Republic of Adygea, in the Krasnodar Territory).

There is a possibility of activation of landslide processes, landslips, subsidence of soil in the mountainous and foothill areas of the North Caucasian and Southern Federal districts (the Republic of Adygea, the Republic of Crimea, the Krasnodar Territory).
