On July 6, the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory received a message that during the climbing route on the territory of the old quarry on Mount Kepsha, an athlete broke down and was injured.
During the passage of a difficult section, the climber fell, hit her head and broke her right arm. Her companion, who was walking with her in a bundle, was able to fix the damaged limb with an improvised splint made of branches, but they were not able to descend from the vertical cliff on their own.
Specialists of the Southern Regional Search and Rescue Unit EMERCOM of Russia using equipment climbed to the athletes. Having strengthened the route with additional ropes, they lowered the girl to the foot of the cliff, where the squad doctors laid a splint on a broken arm and treated the wound on the head, and also fixed the cervical vertebrae with the Shants collar.
After securing the route with additional ropes, they lowered the girl to the bottom of the cliff, where the team's medics put a splint on the broken arm and treated the wound on the head, as well as fixed the cervical vertebrae with the collar of the Schanz.
