A 3rd year student at the Faculty of Secondary Professional Education of the Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia Nikita Golubev provided first aid and saved the life of an 11-year-old girl who almost drowned while swimming.
The incident happened on May 17 in Krasnoyarsk in the area of the White Dew microdistrict on the Abakan channel of the Yenisei. Training nearby and seeing crowds on the shore, he decided to understand what was happening. Immediately assessing the situation, Nikita began to provide first aid to the child.
All 15 minutes before the arrival of the ambulance, the student conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation and thanks to his competent actions, she took a short breath, and she got a pulse. Following the rules, he turned the victim on his side so that water came out of his nose and mouth.
The Academy pays special attention to the practical training of students, one of the main courses of which is providing first aid to victims.
