As of 8 AM Moscow time, some 350 people and 180 units of equipment, including 3 Kamov Ka-32 water-bombing helicopters of the Emergency Ministry’s Zhukovsky Air Rescue Center and Moscow Aviation Center are battling the fire at a construction shopping center in Odintsovo District, Moscow Region. Specialized fire and rescue equipment is involved: sky lifts, aerials, fire bluster tank trucks. 55 thousand sq. meters of the underground parking lot and the roof is burning. 1,000 sq. meters of the roof has collapsed. More than 3,000 customers and staff of the center have been evacuated. According to preliminary data, there are victims.
The fire is being extinguished, the aircraft have made 120 discharges dropping over 600 tons of water. Shkval pumping unit of the Noginsk Rescue Center is operating at the scene.
The fire was contained at 10:56 PM, Moscow time, and at 7:03 AM open blaze was put out.
A decision-making center of the Emergency Ministry’s All-Russian Fire Defense Research Institute of the Order of “The Badge of Honor” has been deployed to develop efficient approaches to the suppression of the fire.
The environmental situation is being monitored, a mobile laboratory is measuring maximum permissible concentration of carbon monoxide. The population are being updated.
