Over the past 24 hours the National Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry organized work to ensure functioning of control bodies, managing their forces and facilities as part of crisis management system on all the levels of the Single State Disaster Management System.
Work was organized to put out 280 man-caused fires, respond to 246 traffic accidents and 18 accidents on waterways, find and defuse 296 explosive devices, including 12 aerial bombs, provide psychological aid on 56 occasions.
Measures were taken to mitigate:
- A fire in a non-operative part of a storehouse in Krasnoselsky, Moscow;
- Traffic accidents: involving a minibus and a car in Orenburg District, Orenburg Region; involving two cars in Mytishchi Urban District, Moscow Region;
- A power outage in the Altai Republic and a disruption in cold water in Orenburg Region.
Since 8 August – situation on the Military Georgian Highway in North Ossetia-Alania;
Since 8 August – delivery of relief supplies to Sri Lanka;
Since 7 August – response to a cyclone in Maritime Territory;
Since 4 August – rescue operations at a mine in the town of Mirny, Sakha (Yakutia);
Since 19 June – search and rescue operation on Lake Ladoga in Karelia;
Response to cyclones in Russia;
Protection of settlements and businesses against wildfires.
