Over the past 24 hours the National Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry organized work to ensure functioning of control bodies, managing their forces and facilities as part of crisis management system on all the levels of the Single State Disaster Management System.
Work was organized to put out 320 man-caused fires, respond to 285 traffic accidents and 31 accidents on waterways, find and defuse 84 explosive devices, including 7 aerial bombs, provide psychological aid on 212 occasions.
Measures were taken to mitigate:
- Fires: in a detached house and 2 non-residential buildings in the city of Rostov-on-Don; in the attic of a house in Timiryazevsky, Moscow;
- An air crash in the settlement of Chervlyonnaya, Chechen Republic;
- A traffic accident involving a car and a tank lorry in Kalachinsk District, Omsk Region;
- Power outages: in the city of Khabarovsk, in Nevsky District of Saint Petersburg and in Kudrovo, Leningrad Region.
Since 8 August – delivery of relief goods to Sri Lanka;
Since 7 August – response to a cyclone in Maritime Territory;
Since 7 August – response to a cyclone in Perm Territory;
Since 6 August – search for fishermen in Kuragino District, Krasnoyarsk Territory;
Since 4 August – rescue operations at a mine in the town of Mirny, Sakha (Yakutia);
Since 19 June – search and rescue operation on Lake Ladoga in Karelia;
Response to cyclones in Russia;
Protection of settlements and businesses against wildfires.
