Over the past 24 hours the National Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry organized work to ensure functioning of control bodies, managing their forces and facilities as part of crisis management system on all the levels of the Single State Disaster Management System.

Work was organized to put out 294 man-caused fires, respond to 317 traffic accidents and 22 accidents on waterways, find and defuse 4 explosive devices, provide psychological aid on 22 occasions.

Measures were taken to mitigate:

-          Fires: in a detached house in Zima District, Irkutsk Region; on the roof of a furniture workshop in the town of Chelyabisnk; in a detached house in Birsk District, Bashkortostan;

-          Traffic accidents: involving a truck and two cars in Surgut District, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area; involving a minibus and three cars in Kirovsky District, Saint Petersburg;

-          Power outages: in Yelizovo District, Kamchatka Territory; in Bodaibo District, Irkutsk Region; in Nelkinovsky District, Rostov Region;

-          Collapse of a pedestrian overpass in Vyazniki District, Vladimir Region.

Under control:

Since 7 August – response to a cyclone in Perm Territory;

Since 6 August – search for fishermen in Kuragino District, Krasnoyarsk Territory;

Since 4 August – rescue operations at a mine in the town of Mirny, Sakha (Yakutia);

Since 19 June – search and rescue operation on Lake Ladoga in Karelia;

Response to cyclones in Russia;

Protection of settlements and businesses against wildfires.
