Over the past 24 hours the National Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry organized work to ensure functioning of control bodies, managing their forces and facilities as part of crisis management system on all the levels of the Single State Disaster Management System.
Work was organized to put out 333 man-caused fires, respond to 212 traffic accidents and 5 accidents on waterways, find and defuse 26 explosive objects, provide psychological aid on 32 occasions.
Measures were taken to mitigate:
- Fires: on the roof of an administration building in the city of Tomsk; in a storehouse in the town of Kotelniki, Moscow Region; in an administration building in Troitsky and Novomoskovsky Administrative Districts, Moscow;
- A traffic accident: involving a coach and two cars in Khamovniki, Moscow; involving a bus in Yartsevo District, Smolensk Region.
Since 19 May – medical evacuation of seriously-ill patients from Moscow to Grozny and from Grozny to Nizhny Novgorod;
Since 17 May – a cyclone in southern and eastern Siberia;
Since 16 May – response to a gas explosion in a block of flats in the city of Volgograd;
Protection of settlements and businesses against wildfires;
Spring flooding in the Russian Federation.
