Cyclone in Southern, Northwestern and Central parts of Russia
A cyclone has been bringing in rain, hail and wind gusts up to 20 m/s since 2 July 2018. Power outages occurred in 10 settlements of 2 municipal districts of the Republic of Moldovia. Roofings of 14 houses were partially damaged. 11 trees were uprooted in the town of Saransk.
4 road sections, lying in low-lands, were flooded, 15 flights were delayed for up to 4 hours in the town of Irkutsk due to short downpours. 4 square meters of dry wall ceiling collapsed in Silver Moll Mall due to soaking.
Power supply was fully restored, roofs of houses are being repaired, trees are being sawn and removed, medical aid is being provided to the injured. Water has drained from flooded road sections, there are no disruptions in aircraft, railroad and car traffic.
Response to man-caused fires
Fire and rescue divisions have put out 308 fires, 202 of them in residential areas. 60 people have been affected, 52 of them have been saved.
Supervision bodies of the Emergencies Ministry Directorates for constituent territories of the Russian Federation are taking preventive measures to reduce the number of man-caused fires.
Accidents on bodies of water
Rescue divisions responded to 23 accidents. 24 people were affected, 4 of them were rescued.
Response by bomb disposal divisions
Bomb disposal divisions found 82 explosive devices, including 1 aerial bomb.
Traffic accident response
Fire and rescue teams were deployed 279 times to respond to traffic accidents. 367 people were injured, 210 of them were saved (extricated or saved from dangerous situations in other ways).
Emergency psychological aid
Specialists of the Emergency Ministry psychological service have been involved in rendering emergency psychological aid to people affected by emergencies once. Psychological support was provided on 1 occasion.
