The Emergency Ministry’s managing forces and facilities of constant readiness are put on high alert between 25 May and 25 July 2018 to ensure response to and management of possible emergencies during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

Emergency situations under control

Spring floods in Russia

Spring floods are developing in accordance with the forecast, 31 houses, 337 farmlands, 11 low-level bridges and 4 sections of roads remain flooded in 9 settlements in 8 regions of Far East, Siberia, Ural, Volga area, northwestern and central Russia.

20 settlements (Sverdlovsk Region) have become cut off due to flooded bridges and roads. There are 8 boat crossings. Normal functioning of the society has not been disturbed, all the cut-off areas have firemen.

Joint task forces of the Emergency Ministry are working in cooperation with local governments. There are no flooded businesses.

More than 440 people and 100 units of equipment, with 27 boats among them, including 99 people and 26 units of equipment, with 9 boats among them, provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry, are dealing with the floods.

Response to man-caused fires

Fire and rescue divisions have put out 328 fires, 230 of them in residential areas. 47 people have been affected, 35 of them have been saved.

Supervision bodies of the Emergencies Ministry Directorates for constituent territories of the Russian Federation are taking preventive measures to reduce the number of man-caused fires.

Accidents on bodies of water

Rescue divisions responded to 7 accidents.

9 people were affected, 3 of them were rescued.

Response by bomb disposal divisions

Bomb disposal divisions found 116 explosive devices, including 4 aerial bombs.

Traffic accident response

Fire and rescue teams were deployed 213 times to respond totraffic accidents. 292 people were injured, 209 of them were saved (extricated or saved from dangerous situations in other ways).

Situation at the facilities controlled by Paramilitary Mine Rescue Divisions

There were no accidents at the facilities controlled by Paramilitary Mine Rescue Divisions. Medical workers were dispatched once.

Emergency psychological aid

Specialists of the Emergency Ministry psychological service have been involved in rendering emergency psychological aid to people affected by emergencies 2 times. Psychological support was provided on 3 occasions.
