Traffic accident in Kirov Region

A traffic accident involving a private passenger minibus and a car happened at 8:08 AM, 2 October 2017, at kilometer marker 259 on R176 Vyatka federal motorway 2 km north of the settlement of Kriusha. There are victims.

42 people and 14 units of equipment, including 11 people and 4 units of equipment provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry, were involved in dealing with the accident.

Response to man-caused fires

Fire and rescue divisions have put out 369 fires, including 264 fires in residential blocks. 77 people have been affected, 65 of them have been saved.

Supervision bodies of the Emergencies Ministry Directorates for constituent territories of the Russian Federation are taking preventive measures to reduce the number of man-caused fires.

Protection of settlements and businesses against wildfires

58 aircraft, including 52 provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry, are on standby to protect settlements, fight wildfires, run air reconnaissance and redeploy forces, (849 flights, 3,776 discharges, 32 million 231 thousand liters of water dropped on wildfires; 1,736 flights to monitor the situation and redeploy personnel and 6,479 people were transported). Ground and air teams have prevented the spread of fires to 3,696 settlements.

An Emergency Ministry’s Mil Mi-8 helicopter was deployed to fight wildfires in Crimea. It made 7 flights, 26 discharges and dropped 130 thousand liters of water (prevented fires from spreading to the settlement of Khodzha-Sala, Bakhchisarai Distrctict).

More than 870 people and 260 units of equipment provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry are involved in protecting settlements, businesses and infrastructure against wildfires.

Rescue units have been dispatched to respond to 2 accidents on waterways.

Response by bomb disposal divisions

Bomb disposal divisions have found and defused 37 explosive devices.

Traffic accident response

Fire and rescue teams have been deployed 252 times to respond totraffic accidents.

351 people have been injured in road traffic accidents, 220 of them have been saved (extricated or saved from dangerous situations in other ways).

Emergency psychological aid

Specialists of the Emergency Ministry psychological service have been involved in rendering emergency psychological aid to people affected by emergencies 7 times. Psychological aid has been provided on 4 occasions.

Power outages and accidents at facilities of housing and utilities

Over the past 24 hours there was a disruption in heat supply in the town of Troitsk, Chelyabinsk Region. The repairs are planned to be finished at 7 PM, 3 October 2017.

Restoration of power in Sakhalin Region and Khabarovsk Territory was finished, normal functioning of the society was not disturbed.

Humanitarian assistance to Cuba hit by hurricane Irma

Following the order of the Russian Government of 21 September 2017, the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations in conjunction with the Russian Federal State Reserves Agency has arranged a delivery of up to 1,200 tons of relief supplies (construction materials, power lines, power cables, power generators, food) by sea to Cuba.
