Traffic accident on railway crossing in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area
A traffic accident involving a passenger train, following the route from Adler to Nizhnevartovsk, and a truck, followed by derailing of one train car without tipping over, happened on a controlled railway crossing through the local motorway between the settlements of Megion and Nizhnevartovsk in Nizhnevartovsk District at 09:12 AM, 09 September 2017.
According to the Zashchita Center for Disaster Medicine, there are injured, they were hospitalized to the medical institutions of Nizhnevartovsk. 3 passengers were delayed from 1 hour to up to 4 hours 47 minutes.
The Emergency Response Center of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area Directorate of the Emergencies Ministry was set up, task groups of the Emergencies Ministry were deployed at the scene and hospitals. The population and passengers are being informed. The Russian Emergencies Ministry’s psychologists render necessary aid to the injured and their relatives. One recovery train was dispatched from the town of Surgut.
151 passengers were transported by buses, designated by the local administration, the rest were delivered by relatives on their vehicles.
Recovery operation was finished at 01:57 PM, 09 September 2017, train traffic was fully restored. Investigative operations are underway.
132 people and 38 units of equipment, including 21 people and 6 units of equipment provided by the Emergencies Ministry were involved into mitigation of the accident.
Traffic accident in Sverdlovsk Region
A traffic accident involving a truck and 2 cars happened on 24 kilometer mark of the R-355 local motorway between Yekaterinburg and the town of Polevskoy, 1.5 km to the west of the settlement of Shirokaya Rechka at 03:40 PM, 09 September 2017.
According to the Zashchita Center for Disaster Medicine, there are injured, they were hospitalized to the medical institutions of Yekaterinburg and Polevskoy.
Police organizes contraflow lane reversal traffic. Investigative operations are underway.
61 people and 18 units of equipment, including 25 people and 7 units of equipment provided by the Emergencies Ministry were dealing with the accident.
Response to man-caused fires
Fire and rescue divisions have put out 276 fires, including 205 fires in residential blocks. 64people have been affected, 50 of them have been saved.
Supervision bodies of the Emergencies Ministry Directorates for constituent territories of the Russian Federation are taking preventive measures to reduce the number of man-caused fires.
Protection of settlements and businesses against wildfires
73 aircraft, including 58 provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry, are on standby to protect settlements, fight wildfires, run air reconnaissance and redeploy forces, (832 flights, 3,697 discharges, 31 million 696 thousand liters of water dropped on wildfires; 1,736 flights to monitor the situation and redeploy personnel and 6,479 people were transported). Ground and air teams have prevented the spread of fires to 3,677 settlements (1 settlement over the past 24 hours).
An Emergencies Ministry’s Beriyev Be-200ChS was deployed to fight wildfires in Dagestan. It made 1 flight, 1 discharge dropping 12 thousand liters of water (prevented fires from spreading to the settlement of Khoroda, Tlyarata District).
The situation is under constant satellite and air monitoring, development of the most dangerous fires is being modelled, UAVs are being actively used. Residential blocks and woods are being patrolled, the people are being kept updated on the situation and steps taken.
More than 160 people and 60 units of equipment provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry are involved in protecting settlements, businesses and infrastructure against wildfires in the worst-hit regions (Magadan Region and Buryatia).

Specialists of the Emergency Ministry psychological service have been involved in rendering emergency psychological aid to people affected by emergencies 5 times. Psychological aid has been provided on 26 occasions.
Release of ash by volcanoes in Kamchatka Territory
Shiveluch volcano in Ust-Kamchatsk District, Kamchatka Territory released ash at 00:41 AM, 10 September 2017 to a height of up to 6,000 meters.
The clouds of ash spread to the northwest 50 km away from the volcanoe. There are no settlements on the way of ash clouds. No tourist groups are registered around the volcanoes, air services were not disturbed.
