Magadan air division of air rescue center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry is going to appear in Kolyma. Mi-8MTV1 helicopter is going to be on constant duty in the region allowing quicker response to emergencies.
The region has been in need of an air division for a long time: there are no roads in some hard-to-reach areas of the region and it is possible to get their only by sea or air. The helicopter will quickly deliver people, equipment and vital goods into emergency areas, take part in search-and-rescue operations and air reconnaissance, evacuation of the injured, delivery of humanitarian goods, extinguishing major fires, and response to oil spills.
Now the recruitment for future division is underway - aircraft commanders, second pilots, flight mechanics, engineers and aircraft technicians are wanted.
Magadan air division is going to be the sixth in the Far East. The similar divisions operate in Khabarovsk and Primorsky Territories, in Kamchatka, Yakutia and Sakhalin Region.
