468 people and 118 units of equipment, including 295 people and 78 units of equipment from the Emergencies Ministry are dealing with the situation.

In a short time a crisis management system was created and headed by a working group of the Governmental Emergency Management and Fire Safety Commission.

At present the airport is operating normally, traffic on Kiev Highway is restored.

People are informed on the radio, terminals of OKSION and through text messages about detours.

The operations are carried on.

On 29 December 2012, at 4:36 p.m. the Crisis Management Center of the Moscow Main Office of the Emergency Ministry got a message from a dispatcher of Vnukovo airport that a passenger plane Tupolev-204 flying Pardubice (Czech Republic) – Moscow, overshot the runway crashing through the perimeter fence while landing in Vnukovo airport.

The fuselage fell into pieces and itsright engine caught fire.

There were 8 people aboard. 4 people were hospitalized, 4 more were killed.

Emergency services of the airport, Emergency Ministry’s rescue and fire divisions and forces of the extra risk rescue operations center Leader were immediately sent to the site ot the crash.

At 5:03 p.m. the fire fighters extinguished the fire and measures were taken to prevent possible ignition of fuel.

Tu-204 is a Russian passenger plane. Crew – 3-4 people. Maximum capacity – 210 people.
