The Deputy Emergencies Minister Pavel Baryshev has carried out a meeting on protection of forest against wildfires and protection of settlements in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
Last year, due to an anomalous heat wave, a large number of fires broke out, which were not detected and dealt with in time. This year there is a possibility of a similar situation. This is why the Deputy Minister ordered working out additional measures to respond to such risks.
During the meeting, Pavel Baryshev focused attention that more often than not, wildfires are caused by the locals that ignore fire safety regulations. This is why he called to apply the most severe administrative measures and fines to such people.
There is a high threat of wildfires in several regions of the Republic. Heads of municipal units are ordered to head Emergency Response Commissions and monitor the situation round the clock, take all the necessary measures to immediately detect and deal with fires, involve volunteers to firefighting operations. All municipal units have to undergo inspections on preparedness for seasonal risks.
