The Deputy Emergencies Minister Pavel Baryshev has visited the settlements of Yakutia that have been affected by floods. The Deputy Chairman of the Government of Yakutia Alexei Kolodeznikov accompanied the Deputy Minister during his working trip.
During the meeting with representatives of the local administration it was pointed out that roads got washed out, ice floes destroyed power lines. But the Emergency Response Commission and the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s specialists took the necessary measures to rescue citizens, provide them with food and deploy temporary shelters.
The head of the settlement of Amga Nikolai Arkhipov said that 1,045 residents were affected by floods. 681 people received lump-sum aid from the budget of the Republic, 644 of them applied for federal aid. He also added that there are still problems with those, who don’t have necessary documents.
The Deputy Minister said that additional forces must be sent to the region to restore infrastructure in Amga District. He also stressed that people must receive all the necessary aid. “Every affected family must get special attention”, said Pavel Baryshev.
Summer recreation of children, clearing out of rubble, rendering of aid to the elderly and low-income families was discussed during the children.
Then the Deputy Minister had a meeting with the residents of the affected settlement. He listened to their questions and requests, which mostly regarded allocated additional funds from the federal budget to restore houses and supply more building materials. Pavel Baryshev also pointed out that all listed problems have been noted and will be passed to corresponding agencies for immediate actions.
