The conference: international Humanitarian Aid. Experience, Facts. Outlooks organized by the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations and UN OCHA (office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) has been held during the International Exhibition ISSE 2018 in the Noginsk Rescue Center.
The event was attended by representatives of national emergency services from countries receiving international humanitarian aid and donor countries who participate the UN programs.
The participants discussed cooperation during massive natural disasters, recommendations for stronger humanitarian response and more optimal use of resources. Leading experts in disaster management from national emergency agencies and international organizations made reports on a number of key issues, including coordination of foreign national SAR divisions, actions of international emergency medical teams, building a global network of crisis management centers and others.
The participants also made proposals correcting the project: What should be done and what should be avoided during international disaster response.
Representatives of emergency services got familiar with examples of practical experience and corresponding conclusions made during response to different massive disasters, such as earthquakes in Chile, Mexico and Nepal.
