All-Russian fire and rescue sport competition for children and youth held in Perm

The All-Russian fire and rescue sport competitions for children and youth, dedicated to the memory of Yuri Polikarpov, has been held in the city of Perm for the last three days. 15 teams all over the country took part in the competitions.

The main competition program included firefighting relay race, fire ladder climbing, as well as 75-meter long obstacle course. Interactive venues, quizzes and quadbike rides were open for observers.

Such competitions are held since 2012 and are tightly connected with the legend of fire and rescue sport of Russia – Yuri Polikarpov, the International class master in fire and rescue sport, the all-round champion of the country of 1984, the captain of the USSR national team between 1981 and 1985, multiple champion and record holder of all-Russian and international competitions.

“Any kind of sport trains your will, necessary for young generation, fire and rescue sport in particular”, said the Director of the International sports Federation of firefighters and rescuers Andrei Kalinin. “These exercises teach people to work in a team and help building up a strong character”.

1st place – team from Perm Territory;

2nd place – team from Tatarstan;

3rd place – team from Udmurtia;

1st place – team from Perm Territory;

2nd place – Norton-Union Team from Perm;

3rd place – Team from Orenburg Region.
