Students of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations took part yesterday night at this-year first rehears of the Victory Parade on Red Square. Representatives of military universities, military units of the RF Armed Forces and other agencies also attended the rehearsal.
The Emergency Ministry was represented by more than 400 people, two parade companies of the Civil Defense Academy and State Fire Service Academy, who practiced their march on Red Square.
Despite the hardships of the parade drills, officers and students of the Emergency Ministry are proud that they have such a great honor – to march on Red Square. Many of the young people are successors to military dynasties, their grandfathers and great grandfathers went through the war and some even participated in the legendary Victory Parade in 1945.
Students of the Emergency Ministry’s State Fire Service Academy will march on 9 May for the first time.
However, it will be the 17th time students of the Emergency Ministry’s universities will have taken part in the Victory Parade. The Emergency Ministry’s detachment will be headed by director of the Civil Defense Academy Major General Viktor Panchenkov.
