Search operations in Winter Cherry mall in Kemerovo are carried out round-the-clock, said the Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov during the meeting.
“Forces are working round the clock, operation was not stopped even for a minute”, said the Minister.
The Minister also said that first and second floors of the building have been fully cleared out, the structure of the building is being reinforced. All major fire sources were put out, 6 more sections with high temperatures are being controlled by firefighters. About 70% of rubble was cleared out from the 4th floor. Several rooms of the fifth floor were inspected.
Vladimir Puchkov pointed out that a ling to bank account designated for financial help to the families of the killed and injured was posted on the web-site of the Kemerovo Region Government. He also thanked those, who have already donated to the cause.
“I’d like to express my gratitude and appreciation to regions, public organizations and citizens that responded to the tragedy and donate money to help the affected”, said the Minister.
During the meeting, Vladimir Puchkov also ordered experts to prepare a plan for demolishing of the building.
“Demolishing projects must be prepared. Designated those will demolish the building and those who will control it”, said the Minister Puchkov. The building is planned to be demolished after search and rescue operations are finished and all rubble is cleared.
The fire in Winter Cherry mall broke out on 4th floor of the building on 25 March. According to the latest information, 64 people died in the fire, 53 more people requested medical assistance.
