Rescuers cannot enter several rooms of a burning mall Winter Cherry in Kemerovo, said the Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov during the meeting of the working group of the Governmental Disaster Management Commission. “Firemen and rescuers are risking their health and lives, as the structure is unstable, there is a dense smoke. They cannot enter several rooms due to extremely high temperatures”, said the Minister during the meeting.
The Minister pointed out that search and rescue operations continues. The group of forces has been reinforced. “Lots of rescuers from other constituent entities of Siberia arrived here, as well as the most experience rescuers from the Tsentrospas Team from Moscow”, said Vladimir Puchkov. They brought with them search dogs, necessary equipment for search operations and clearing out of rubble. “We will continue reinforcing the group”, said Puchkov. Airmobile teams of Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia and Altai, Novisibirsk and Omsk Regions are in reserve.
UAVs are used to recon the situation and assess the structural soundness of the building. 663 people and 124 units of equipment, including 549 people and 86 units of equipment with 2 aircraft among them provided by the Russian Emergencies Ministry are involved into search and rescue operations.
