The Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov has demanded boosting control over state of the air near Yadrovo dump in Volokolamsk District, Moscow Region, where local governments declared the state of emergency due to complaints of local citizens about smell.
“Additional forces of Rospotrebnadzor (federal consumer rights protection authority), mobile laboratories must be deployed, the information must be processed immediately”, ordered Vladimir Puchkov during the conference meeting in the Russian Emergencies Ministry. He also demanded to inform the population in real-time about test results of air and soil.
According to the report made by the representative of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Moscow Region Directorate, there are no exceeding of contaminants in the air. Monitoring is being carried out round-the-clock in accordance with the citizens’ complaints.
“Over the past 24 hours we carried out 72 tests”, clarified the representative. 13 complaints from citizens about small were received in total.
Government of Volokolamsk District declared the state of emergency at Yadrovo dump to initiate remediation of the site.
