The Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov has held an emergency conference meeting in the Russian Emergencies Ministry to discuss mitigation o cyclones in Sakhalin Region, as well as safety of people on bodies of water.
The Minister demanded to take activities of managing bodies and responding services in Sakhalin Region under strict control due to bad weather.
“Mobile warming and technical stations must be deployed at federal, regional and local motorways, everywhere where it is necessary”, said the Minister Puchkov. “Clear all the roads out up to the every single settlement in Sakhalin Region”.
“You must use whole potential of the worldwide satellite monitoring system, the information must be provided and processed in real-time”, stressed the Minister.
Regarding the recent rescue of 40 fishers from the Gulf of Finland, the Minister called to boost activities to inform the population on safety on bodies of water.
“Spring is here already, but fishers carry on coming to ice to catch the fish. Instruct them on state of the ice in popular fishing areas. Russian Emergencies Ministry’s specialists must also be always on duty near these spots”, said Vladimir Puchkov.
