Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov has arrived at the Antonov An-148 plane crash in Ramenskoye District of Moscow Region to check the progress of the SAR operation.
At the scene the Minister talked to investigators of the Investigative Committee and ordered that the operation should be continued. By now rescue efforts have been finished. Unfortunately, no one of the passengers or crew of the flight headed from Domodedovo to Orsk survived.
Leader of the SAR operation, head of the Emergency Ministry’s Moscow Region Directorate Sergei Poletykin reported to the Minister that the search area was divided into squares and is being combed step by step.
In addition, in the morning the An-148 crash site will be examined by UAVs to identify together with the Investigative Committee the main points for SAR operations. The Emergency Ministry is going to provide snow mobiles and other vehicles so that experts of the Interstate Aviation Committee and investigators of the Investigative Committee can work at the scene.
Mr. Puchkov also gave orders to make a way to the crash site,
“One of the main tasks now is to make sure that vehicles can reach the place. Make ways and roads,” the Minister said.
According to him, the road used by heavy vehicles to get to the scene was badly damaged and it is very difficult for special equipment and snow mobile to go on it.
The search efforts continue with almost 600 people involved and working in three shifts.
