The Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov has visited Fire and Rescue Station No.15 of Odintsovo District and has pointed out efficient work of all fire and rescue divisions of Moscow Region, as well as thanked fire fighters for professionalism, displayed during mitigation of emergencies and fires, as well as provided support to the people.
“Fire fighters and rescuers of Moscow Region are ready to complete tasks in adverse urban environment”, said the Minister. “For the duration of New Year festivities, all management bodies and responding fire and rescue divisions are set to high alert. In all, the fire and rescue garrison of Moscow Region ends 2017 with good results”.
The Emergencies Minister said that all crisis management systems and services worked more efficiently in 2017. There were less human casualties in fires, traffic accidents and accidents on waterways thanks to efficient response.
“You achieved good results in mitigation of man-caused and wildfires. A lot of preventive efforts were done, which gave great effects – we rescue more than 100 people in fires and rescued more than 140 people from traffic accidents”, said Vladimir Puchkov during the meeting with the personnel of Fire and Rescue Station No.15 of Odintsovo District.
The Minister also added that good results were achieved by implementation of new approaches and technologies, as well as cooperation of the Emergencies Ministry with the Government of Moscow Region and the Governor’s support.
Mr. Puchkov also pointed out that all leisure and recreational facilities near water bodies are protected by rescue services.
“We increased the number of protected recreational facilities near water bodies in Moscow Region to provide safety of citizens. Now people have safe and comfortable places to rest and there are fewer accidents”, said Vladimir Puchkov.
He also added that crisis management system has been significantly improved under the aegis of the Crisis Management Center of Moscow Region and corresponding services in municipalities. New vehicles and equipment have been supplied to responding units of Federal Fire Department and rescue services of Moscow Region.
The Minister decorated 9 employees of Fire and Rescue Station No.15 with departmental awards to commemorate the Rescuer’s Day.
During an informal conversation, the Minister and personnel discussed social protection, paying out of salaries, bonuses, as well as specialized fire and rescue equipment and vehicles at disposal of fire fighters.
Additionally, new uniforms and equipment have been supplied to the Station. The uniform standards are described at Order No.928 On uniform supply in the Federal Fire Department of State Fire Department from 2 August 2017.
