Vladlen Aksyonov: Regional data bases for volunteers, searching for lost children, must be created

The Deputy Emergencies Minister Vladimir Aksyonov has taken part in the Legal support of cooperation between state and society in searching of lost children in Russia round table held in the Federation Council today.

The Deputy Minister pointed out in his speech that there are over 140 volunteer organizations in Russia and their contribution to the cause in invaluable. This is why the Emergencies Ministry considers creating data bases of such organizations essential. Ministries need to sign agreements on cooperation with these organizations to help the state in searching for lost children.

“We think that this is essential to create on regional data bases of volunteer units, organizations and their training, capabilities and Internet resources that may help rescuers in searching for lost children. This approach will help setting certain algorithms for cooperation”, said Vladlen Aksyonov.

According to the Deputy Minister, The Emergencies Ministry and other ministries must sign agreements with volunteer organizations on federal and regional levels.

“As of right now, the Emergencies Ministry cooperates with volunteer organizations in several fields. We actively cooperate with them in search operations, as well as carry out joint preventive efforts and learn them how to properly search for people. Volunteers need to be taught about legal aspects of searching, how to use communications equipment, orienteering, first aid and transportation of the injured”, said Vladimir Aksyonov.
