The Russian Emergencies Ministry is ready to assist in mitigation of catastrophic earthquake that has occurred on the border between Iraq and Iran.
The Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov has sent telegrams with condolences to the Minister of Interior of Iran Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and the Minister of Interior of Iraq Qasim al-Araji and assured that the Russian Ministry is ready to assist in mitigation of the disaster.
“On the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s behalf I express the most sincerest condolences due to catastrophic earthquake. Let us know, if our Ministry can assist you in dealing with the disaster”, says the telegram.
A catastrophic 7.3-magnitude earthquake occurred on the border between Iraq and Iran, leaving more than 300 dead and 2,500 injured. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
