Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov has held a meeting of the working group of the Governmental Disaster Management and Fire Safety Commission to discuss the current situation at the scene after part of an apartment building went down in the town of Izhevsk.
The Minister demanded that all services provide assistance and all-round support.
“All services should carry out their tasks. Social services should quickly take all steps and services restoring the documents of the survivors should start working at 8 AM tomorrow,” Mr. Puchkov said adding that the documents must be restored during Friday.
By now, all residents of the house have been evacuated. There are 2 temporary shelters in schools. All the affected and their families are getting assistance, with special care being taken of children, bed-ridden patients and senior citizens. The population are being informed on the measures taken and the current situation. Emergency Ministry’s psychologists are working.
Emergency Ministry’s fire and rescue crews and other emergency services were reported to have arrived at the scene in the shortest time and started SAR efforts.
The airmobile team of the Emergency Ministry’s Udmurtia Directorate, Izhevsk rescue services, including SAR dogs are working at the scene, while airmobile teams of the Emergency Ministry’s Tatarstan Samara and Kirov Regions Directorates are on standby.
Airmobile teams of the Emergency Ministry’s Bashkortostan and Perm Territory Directorates are on their way, as well as specialists of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Directorate equipped with Struna mobile diagnostic complex.
Emergency operations centers and task forces of the Emergency Ministry’s Central Regional Center and Udmurtia are working in cooperation with the local government and other emergency services. Managing bodies and forces of the Udmurtia subsystem of the Single State Disaster Management System, Emergency Ministry’s Udmurtia and Nizhny Novgorod Region Directorates are operating under the state of emergency.
The condition of the injured taken to hospitals in Izhevsk and SAR operations are under control. Emergency Ministry’s aircraft are on standby for medical evacuation.
More than 400 people and 100 units of equipment, including more than 200 people and 50 units of equipment provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry, are working at the scene. The team is being reinforced.
