Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov has taken off for the town of Izhevsk to coordinate the SAR efforts and provision of aid to the affected residents after a house collapse.
The Minister is going to check the SAR operations, temporary shelters and discuss additional measures that can be taken to help the residents left homeless.
At present, fire and rescue crews, airmobile teams of the Emergency Ministry’s Udmurtia, Bashkortostan and Perm Territory Directorates, rescuers and Siberian and Volga Regional SAR Units with SAR dogs and rescue equipment are working at the incident scene in Izhevsk.
Struna mobile diagnostic complex is going to be used to assess structural soundness of the remaining building.
Emergency Ministry’s aircraft are on standby for medical evacuation.
3 temporary shelters were deployed in schools and hotels. They provide food, children’s care rooms, social services. Emergency Ministry’s psychologists and medical crews are working there. All the evacuees are getting medical and psychological aid. Special care is being taken of children, bed-ridden patients and senior citizens. An emergency number has been issued for friends and relatives.
