Employees of the Emergency Ministry have used UAVs to check Sindika shopping center that burned down in the west of the Moscow Circular Highway in Odintsovo District.
The check showed that it is dangerous to stay inside the building because of collapsed constructions and the threat that the building may go down entirely.
In addition, the decision-making center of the Emergency Ministry’s All-Russian Fire Defense Research Institute deployed to find efficient approaches to the suppression of the fire also confirmed that it was unsafe for firemen to work inside the building, so fire and rescue crews keep on working from the outside using special equipment.
The fire started at about 3 PM on Sunday and quickly covered 55 thousand sq. meters. 1,000 sq. meters of the roof collapsed. 3,000 people were evacuated. The blaze was contained at 11:56 PM and at 7:03 AM Moscow time, Monday, open fire was put out, but there has been no word about total suppression so far.
