Open blaze at Vostochny merchandising market in the city of Rostov-on-Don has been put out. The fire was prevented from spreading to the whole of market and nearby residential areas. According to preliminary information, nobody was hurt.
The area of the fire is 6,000 sq. meters and its source is in one of the shops.
More than 400 people and 50 units of equipment were involved to fight the fire. Emergency Ministry’s Beriyev Be-200ChS plane and Mil Mi-8 helicopter were standing by. No exceeding of maximum permissible concentration of carbon monoxide has been registered.
The fire started late evening yesterday. The Emergency Ministry received the report at 9 PM – a shop in 19/4 Lelyushenko Street was on fire.
The fire class grew from the second to the fourth one within an hour. By 10 PM, some 6,000 sq. meters was on fire.
