Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Vladlen Aksyonov has met today in Moscow the delegation of the China’s National Administration for Occupational Safety and Disaster Relief headed by deputy executive director Wang Haiyun.
The meeting was held as part of the 8th International Mines Rescue Body Conference IMRB 2017.
“Participation of senior officials and specialists of Chinese emergency services in events held by the Russian Emergency Ministry has become a good tradition,” Mr. Aksyonov said. “We traditionally attach great importance to development of disaster management cooperation with China. The cooperation between the Russian Emergency Ministry and corresponding Ministries and services of China is strategic partnership by nature.”
He added that the Russian Emergency Ministry paid special attention to occupational safety and disaster relief, therefore cooperation between the two countries has long-term outlooks and will be useful for the peoples of Russia and China.
Russian and Chinese emergency services have a rich history of cooperation. In September 2016, the Russian Emergency Ministry and the China’s Ministry of Water Resources successfully interacted during response to floods in Far Eastern region caused by Lionrock typhoon.
During the talks the parties discussed exchange of information between the National Crisis Management Center and ministries and services of China dealing with disasters. Such exchange allows fast decision-making to cope with disasters and minimize the damage.
