A photo-exhibition dedicated to the 90 Anniversary of the State Fire Inspection opened in the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s administration building today.
Photos displayed at the exhibition show daily tasks of the State Fire Inspection, its development, activities, provision of crucial facilities, transparency principles, volunteer firefighters, interaction with children within youth firefighting detachments.
One exhibition is dedicated to the Inspection’s history. It is assumed that the Inspection was established on 18 June 1927, when the Statute on State Fire Inspection was signed, giving the start to unique and efficient firefighting service.
The Inspection was a fast developing agency. Since its establishment it was obvious that the system is efficient and gives great results. In order to improve its efficiency it was decided to train new employees. Training of new fire inspection specialists started in 1933 in the Leningrad Engineering Institute of Communal Construction.
With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, fire inspectors were given special tasks. They trained civilians to put out fires caused by incendiary bombs, organize fire protection of buildings and structures. Fire inspectors had lots of work behind the frontlines. As all industrial facilities were evacuated, they were tasked to prevent fires in facilities that manufactured ammunition and vehicles at all costs.
