Over 70 forest fire sources put out in Russia over the past 24 hours.
71 fires on a total square of more than 96,000 hectares were put out in Russia by different agencies and services. Over 7,000 people and 2,000 units of equipment are involved into protection of settlements and businesses against fires, monitoring of forest fire situation and firefighting operations.
64 aircraft, including 4 Emergency Ministry’s Mil Mi-8 helicopters, were used to regroup forces and monitor the situation in Pribaikalsky and Kabansk District in Buryatia, Kobyask District in Sakha (Yakutia), Krasny Chikoi District in Transbaikalian Territory;
The situation is under constant satellite and air monitoring, development of the most dangers fires is being modelled, UAVs are being actively used. Residential blocks and woods are being patrolled, the people are being kept updated on the situation and steps taken.
An Emergencies Ministry’s Mil Mi-8 helicopter prevented the spread of fire to the settlement of Batamai, Kobyaisk District, Sakha (Yakutia) populated by 218 people.
