The Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov has visited the KorabelyPrionezhyaChildrenEducationCenter (Onega Shipwrights), where the IV Interregional Children and Junior Navigation and Shipwright Festival takes place, within the VI Society for Safety Forum.
Pupils of the Center showed the visitors their very first expeditionary vessel – gaff schooner called Onezhskaya Zhemchuzhina (Onega Pearl), which they built for two years with their teachers and wrights. Several days ago the vessel was launched. At the end of the month pupils will navigate 600 km around the LakeOnega. The trip is called to make guidebooks for the LakeOnega more precise.
In turn the Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov that the cadet school of the Emergencies Minister will be established in the KorabelyPrionezhyaCenter. Graduates of the school will serve in the Vytegra Arctic Training and RescueCenter of the Emergencies Ministry.
“The cadet school of the Emergencies Ministry will be created within the KorabelyPrionezhyaCenter”, confirmed the Governor of Vologda Region Oleg Kuvshinnikov.
As of now, construction of classrooms and dormitories is being discusses. Cadets will serve in the Russian Emergencies Ministry in the Vytegra Arctic Training and RescueCenter and provide safety in the Arctic.
The Special Representative of the Russian President for cooperation in the Arctic and the Antarctic Artur Chilingarov pointed out that the Emergencies Ministry and Vologda Region can also rely on workers of the Arctic. “We are always with you. We are glad that there is a next generation”, he said.
The Emergencies Minister also symbolically launched the expedition around the LakeOnega. The Oloniya Folk and Ethnic group saw off the crew according to the Russian traditions. The Captain was given bread so that the crew was never hungry and luck accompanied them, a small bag with soil, which will remind about their home and eggs to avoid troubles.
After the flag hosting ceremony honored guests, crew of the vessel, the Club President went for a short trip on a vessel to personally praise the children’s work.
