Minister Vladimir Puchkov discusses all-round safety in summer with head of Karachay-Cherkessia Rashid Temrezov

Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov has held today a working meeting with head of Karachay-Cherkessia Rashid Temrezov to discuss further cooperation of the Emergency Ministry with the Karachay-Cherkessia’s authorities in the area of all-round safety during summer including tourist routes.

“Health resorts keep on developing. Hundreds of thousands of tourists come to the republic almost year round and rescue units and all services of the republic work in close cooperation to ensure not only comfortable vacations in summer and winter, but world-standard safety as well,” Mr. Puchkov said.

While discussing development of aerial rescue technologies the Emergency Minister noted that aerial specialists protect the entire republic: resorts, cities and settlements.

“We have discussed all necessary issues of developing the Crisis Management Center and the whole disaster response system. Fire and rescue services will be kept on being reinforced in 2017. The republic will get new equipment and fear, staff will be trained and retrained. All regions in Ciscaucasia will develop and cooperation,” the Minister said.

Mr. Temrezov noted that with active support of the Emergency Ministry the region develops vigorously its volunteer fire department.

“Thanks to Ministry’s support volunteer fire department develops actively. Volunteer fire teams help tighten control over flood and wildfire situations in the region and ensure safety of people in resorts,” the head of Karachay-Cherkessia said.

Mr. Puchkov added that equipment, tools and gear which still can be used, but which served the due time are handed over to proper services of the republic and its local government to form the volunteer fire and rescue department. According to the Minister, this work is of utmost importance in remote rural settlements. On the one hand it allows keeping the equipment that still can be used, and on the other gives villagers an opportunity to help people in case of a fire.
