In his speech during the joint meeting of the Emergency Ministry’s board and military council, Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov had demanded that heads of regional directorates pay special attention to social welfare of the Ministry’s staff.
“Social welfare of the staff is the beginning of strict and military discipline of Emergency Ministry’s employees. Wages, settled housing situation, medical services, help to large families – all of it should be taken care of and the staff should be socially protected,” Mr. Puchkov ordered.
He urged heads of regional directorates to treat each housing problem individually and demanded that the lists of the employees who need housing be posted on regional websites and regularly refreshed.
The Minister reprimanded head of the Udmurtia Directorate Pyotr Fomin for his idleness in handling housing issues of former employee’s large family.
“There is no difference between the families of current and former employees. You should treat each particular case individually,” said the Minister and added that senior officials in regions should act in strict accordance with the law without showing callousness or indifference to people. “I am warning you that heads bear personal responsibility, do care about people – that goes for everybody,” Mr. Puchkov stressed adding that he is going to assume control over the situation in Udmurtia personally.
