A funeral rite for the pilots killed while suppressing a wildfire in Kachug District, Irkutsk Region was held today at Tsentralny House of Culture in the town of Zhukovsky.
The crew of the Emergency Ministry Ilyushin Il-76 heavy transport plane died on 1 July in Kachug District, Irkutsk Region while putting out a wildfire which posed a threat to the settlement of Karam and could have spread and filled with smoke energy and transport infrastructure.
There were 10 people aboard the plane: aircraft commander Leonid Filin, second pilot Aleksei Lebedev, navigator Georgy Petrov, engineer Viktor Kuznetsov, radio operator Igor Murakhin, operators Sergei Susov, Sergei Makarov and Marat Khadayev, aircraft technicians Vadim Zhdanov and Andrei Mashninov.
After the funeral rite the dead will be buried in different districts of Moscow Region: Leonid Filin and Georgy Petrov in Shchelkovo District on Lenikhskoye cemetery, Aleksei Lebedev in Moscow on Pykhtinsky cemetery, Igor Murakhin and Sergei Makarov in Zhukovsky on Bykovskoye memorial cemetery, Viktor Kuznetsov in Shchelkovo District on Nikiforovskoye cemetery, Sergei Susov in the town of Lukhovitsy, Vadim Zhdanov in the town of Zelenograd, Andrei Mashninov in the town of Ramenskoye. Marat Khadayev’s body will be transported to the city of Volgograd for burial.
The staff of the Emergency Ministry mourn for all the killed in the plane crash and extend their deepest condolences to their families and friends.
